Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is home to many lunch and after-school clubs where students come together to learn, create, and grow. However, by the end of the day, many of our students are hungry, making it difficult for them to stay engaged. Providing snacks ensures they have the energy to fully participate, whether in restorative justice circles, music clubs, or other enrichment activities. A simple snack can make the difference between a distracted student and one who is ready to learn and contribute.

By securing these snacks, we aim to remove a barrier that often prevents students from taking full advantage of the support and opportunities available to them.

Our goal is to foster a nurturing environment where students feel valued and supported, whether they are attending a club, a counseling session, or simply in need of a pick-me-up after a long day. These snacks will not only fuel their bodies, but, also serve as a motivator to engage in positive, meaningful activities.

Our students are resilient, hardworking, and eager to better themselves and their community. Many of them balance academics, extracurriculars, and personal challenges, yet they show up each day ready to learn. Something as small as a snack can make a big impact on their well-being and success. With your help, we can ensure that no student has to choose between participating in a beneficial program and going home hungry.
