Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The amazing community that surrounds our school often struggles with timeliness and having enough food available for our students. Parents struggle to get students to school daily as well as on time to get breakfast. My students often worry about getting a meal between school lunch and the following school breakfast. The panic that ensues when they arrive late and know they have missed breakfast is heartbreaking.

Last school year my Educational Assistant and I spent hundreds of dollars ensuring our students could get a snack when they needed it.

Please consider donating to this project to feed our sweet students. The snacks being available not only fuels their bodies but allows our students to stress less about what they don't have. Feeding our students when needed is definitely a tool in our tool box to help support them socially and emotionally and allow them the space to be kids and grow.

These snacks will be made available from when they enter my classroom for Special Education Math and Special Education English language arts daily.
