My Project
Students are coming to school hungry or get hungry throughout the school day. The resources from this project will address my students' urgent needs right away. Some students have lunch at 10:15 in the morning, so by the afternoon, they need something to get them through the rest of the day. Students are always asking if I have snacks. I try to always have something, but it is hard to feed so many of them. We also have hygiene items available for students who need access to those materials as well in our community pantry.
My students want to be successful and I would like to provide them with all the essential tools that they will need.
Some of my students' schedules are so packed that they will go the whole day without eating a thing. They participate in after-school activities and don’t eat until they get home. With this project, my students will be able to have a snack when needed, so they can focus on their academics and participate in after-school activities without worrying about being hungry. Some students also bring snacks home to have for the weekend. They appreciate having this option.
