Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are four sections of graduating eighth-graders. I am so excited to have them all in person this year. Middle schoolers are full of life and energy and are eager to learn more about the world around them. As their science teacher, I hope to open their eyes to the passion and fun of science through my class! At this age, I am starting to build in them a foundation for science that will carry them through high school and beyond. Help me achieve my goals of opening doors for my students.

My Project

I’ve been hearing again and again from kids that they don’t have breakfast. Many don’t eat lunch even. That means they go the entire day having something to eat. I want to provide them with snacks so they can eat something during the day. My kids are eighth graders, they are growing and need to eat regularly- help me fund a classroom mini pantry that I can go to to give kids snacks when needed during lunch. Kids shouldn’t have to worry about being hungry when trying to focus in class.
