Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students that I work with come from poverty-stricken backgrounds and more than half of my school population comes from nearby shelters. When a student is experiencing homelessness, they do not want to further stand out by asking for a snack. We have snack time at 11:00 each day because the fifth grade students do not eat lunch until 1:00.

The snacks in this proposal will help me to ensure that all of my students have access to a quick snack so they can continue to learn and grow.

Simple treats like fruit snacks, Goldfish crackers, and other wholesome snacks always bring a smile to their faces. For those students who may not have snacks at home, I will ensure they receive snacks to take with them. This will ensure that every student stays full, focused, and prepared to learn.
