My Project

Providing snacks for my students will improve positive benefits to their learning, focus, energy levels, mental health, and stress management. Proper nutrition is vital to cognitive function, memory, and mood. When students are nourished, they are more likely to participate in discussions, absorb information, and retain new concepts.

My goals for this project are to create a nurturing learning environment that addresses both the mental health and physical needs of my students.

Anxiety and stress are common barriers to student learning. I hope create a comfortable space where students will feel comfortable and cared for.

We have a diverse group of students. Many students qualify for free or reduced lunch. We also have a large population of students that participate in athletics and extracurriculars. Meetings and practices are often immediately before school or immediately following. Oftentimes, they are running on empty due to their crazy schedules.
