This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach middle school students who are behind in reading. Many of them struggle to decode and they come to my room to get support. They leave my class readers with much more confidence. I’m looking to make sure my classroom has comfortable seating options and some snacks for them as all of this helps to support their willingness to come into the classroom and participate in the class. It’s hard for middle schoolers to accept the help they need in their learning, and having these fun items in the classroom will help immensely.
