Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

During lunch, many of my students prefer to hang out in the classroom rather than the cafeteria because it's a more calming space to be. For this project, I am requesting board games, LEGO sets, and snacks for my students who like to spend their lunch periods in the classroom.

LEGO and board games provide a great opportunity for students to take off-screen breaks while still getting to exercise their critical and creative thinking skills at the same time.

Additionally, simple, assessible snacks like chips, cookies, and gummies allow my students to refuel when they’re feeling drained, and can have a significant impact on their ability to concentrate and perform in class.

Your support will help us create a calming space for students to find reprieve during their lunch periods--whether they're catching up on work, hanging out with their friends, or building some LEGO!
