This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In a room with 12 other people, finding the perfect lounging spot can be a challenge. For two years, I have had the pleasure of teaching a 6 grade class of students with a variety of individual needs in the heart of Brooklyn. I am amongst a group of children who are creative, inquisitive, and compassionate when it comes to reading.

At times they see completing work as tedious and some still struggle with a learning gap partly due to the pandemic.

I would like for my students to look at learning as a tool to help the access the future by offering them a warm cozy space full of light snacks to lounge.
