Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

With in-person attendance comes the need to have some snacks to help them make it through the day for their physical and emotional needs. With longer class periods, students are faced with staying focused while hungry.

The snack, water, and juice are ideal for a distracted student who is ready for lunch but has to wait another hour, as well as students who stay after school late in the evening.

My students are more open to learning when they are not hungry. My students often ask for food while in class because their stomachs are growling, so feeding my students has become my number one priority. Having snacks also helps build our school rule community. My students have a safe place. I have asked for four cases of boxed water as well as snacks that are in small packages like granola bars and crackers so students can eat quickly and still get work done. We are excited to continue the school year in-person learning through June.
