My Project

My students are always hungry. They are always looking for food either because they ran out of the house without eating breakfast, or refuse to eat what the school offers (I don't blame them) or maybe they just can't afford it. Keeping them motivated when they are starving, is hard to do. If I have food to offer, they perk right up. I get at least 4 kids a day, stopping by room to ask for something to eat. I do buy them snacks but they don't last too long. Telling them no, is hard to do.

My students are special because they are in a last chance school.

They have made the decision that they are going to take school seriously. I want to help them get it done, I want to make my classroom a sanctuary. A place where they feel safe, and have all the support they need. I just really want to keep them motivated and food is a great way to keep them focused.
