This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will help give my students some snacks to help them focus and learn successfully. Students are more open to learning when they have a full belly. It is always necessary to have a snack available for students. I want my students to know that they can always pass by my office to pick up a snack throughout the day, especially after their gym class.

My students expressed a need for snacks to help keep them alert and motivated to learn, especially after they exercise and play sports in gym class. Since we have a large population of students, snacks seem to disappear from my office.

A snack is such an important part of a student's day. They get even hungrier after working out. The high-impact sports cause a lot of them to come to me starving. Not having a snack available to them makes my heart hurt for them. Since the weather is getting nicer, students go outside for gym class. They love being in the schoolyard and playing with more enthusiasm. Now, more than ever, they need food to regain their energy after forty-five minutes of working out. We want to create a community food bank for our school with various snacks so that our students always feel they have a place to go and grab a snack when needed.

Our school community gets an influx of newcomers every week. I would like to provide them with some snacks to take home since they don't have much at home at the moment.
