My Students

My school is in downtown Brooklyn. Though the area is beautiful many of my students travel over two hours to get here. This past year we unveiled an absolutely beautiful media library. We were fortunate enough to receive donations from the city but our job is not done yet!

My Project

My students are in grades 9-12 and need a snack break while learning financial literacy through our Board Games to Books workshops. Many students begin their school day at 8:00 am and end at 3:40 pm, and students who wish to participate in the workshops have eaten lunch earlier in the day.

A healthy snack will provide the nourishment to remain actively engaged during the long hours of playing board games after-school.

My goal is to offer them an opportunity to learn life-long skills through the art of playing board games.

Ms. Echols Science Skills Center Grades 9-12
