This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All students are special and deserve a good education!

The unique group of students that I am serving are in great need, in high poverty, and eager to learn.

They struggle every day trying to overcome and receive their basic needs. They live in one of the poorest neighborhoods in the city and state. They are funny, sweet, and hopeful. These students are unfortunately at-risk due to the high crime, poverty, homelessness, unemployment, poor health, poor fitness, and poor nutrition, patiently waiting for them outside of the school gates. They need extra attention and nurturing. They need you.

My students come from many countries, so they are also learning the English language and customs of this wonderful country.

My Project

I am in desperate need for snacks for my students. They need to eat at different times during the day because they are hungry. My students are from Kindergarten through 2nd grade and they always want something to eat to keep them going or to keep them motivated to complete their assignments.

"I am hungry!", is something I hear every day in my classroom.

I would love to be able to provide them with snacks (juice, breakfast, and cookies) at home or school.

The candy will be used to help keep them stay motivated to try and complete their required assignments. They will work hard for candy.
