Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I absolutely love my students’ energy, curiosity, and resilience. Despite the challenges they face, particularly coming from low-income families, they show up every day eager to learn and participate. Each snack I’m requesting will make a significant difference in their ability to focus and stay engaged during lessons. When students are hungry, it’s difficult for them to concentrate, but with snacks, they’ll have the fuel needed to stay alert, energized, and ready to learn.

My goal for this project is to ensure that all of my students have access to snacks during the day, regardless of their family’s financial situation.

This will help create a more equitable learning environment where no student is left behind due to hunger. By providing these snacks, I’m also teaching them about the importance of healthy eating habits, which can benefit them beyond the classroom.

What makes my students special is their determination and positive attitude in the face of adversity. They come from diverse backgrounds, each with unique stories, and they inspire me daily with their ability to persevere. Providing them with these resources will give them the physical and mental strength they need to continue excelling in their studies and becoming the best versions of themselves.
