Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a parent, I know my children behave better when they are safe and fed. If they are hungry, thirsty, or tired their ability to self-regulate decreases. I hope that in the classroom I can offer snacks to my students needing to self-regulate. They may have woken up late, not had any food at home, or just need something extra. Whatever their reason or need is my goal is to positively impact the world around me.

Classroom snack bins help give students security knowing they will have food options throughout the day.

I previously purchased some "treasure chests" where students can leave or take snacks as needed. Students can switch out the snack they brought, take one without switching, or just place one in there for someone else.

This project has been very well received and provided many other teachers in my school with a great project to start their DonorsChoose journey.
