Help me give my students a student led snack center with yummy treats that will help keep them fueled throughout the day.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our 4th grade class will create and maintain a Classroom Community Snack Shelf—a space where students and the school community can quietly help themselves to healthy snacks whenever they feel hungry during the school day. The goal is to help all students stay focused, energized, and ready to learn.
But this project goes beyond just our classroom.
As part of a school-wide initiative, my students will take responsibility for preparing, organizing, and safely delivering snack bundles to other classrooms in need. Whether it's a younger grade level or a group that may be short on resources, our students are stepping up to make sure no one in our school community goes hungry or feels left out.
Through this work, students will learn the importance of community service, empathy, and teamwork—skills that extend far beyond the classroom. They will:
Organize and restock the shelf regularly
Create labels and signs to keep the space tidy and welcoming
Track popular snacks and monitor supply levels
Make posters or presentations to teach the importance of healthy eating and caring for others
Print invitations and flyers using the ink to invite the community to come and help themselves.
This student-led project empowers young learners to support our entire school community, not just themselves. By creating and sharing these resources, they are becoming active contributors to a culture of compassion, dignity, and wellness. It's a small, everyday act—but one with a big ripple effect.
