A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Instant noodles are a coveted food item at our school. As a prize, these cups provide a cherished reward as well as a delicious lunch for students. Students also sometimes gift cups of noodles to beloved friends, or classmates who forget their lunches or come to school on a cold day with a cold lunch.
Students are sometimes not innately inspired to do things like practice writing algorithms, or doing practice drills on reading code line by line to understand the value of the variable.
Offering rewards sweetens this activity and motivates students to learn with emotion, competition, anticipation, ambition, and desire.
I will use these cups of noodles and candies as special prizes to reward students for habits of success, like coming to first period on time every day in a week, taking complete notes on new concepts and vocabulary in computer science and programming, and completing group projects with full involvement from all group members.
