My Project

In today’s world food is expensive for everyone including my students! They tend to be more engaged and energetic when they have had something to eat. At my school, lunch begins at 10:39 am to 11:15 am for grades 3 to 5 and 11:32am to 12:00 pm for grades 6 to 8. By 1:00pm, students are hungry. Our school cafeteria will do their best daily to give students extra servings of snacks or fruits but with a 3 to 12 school population ( we are a co-located school) to feed and low funding it is nearly impossible. I can find throughout the day have multiple students at my door asking for something to eat or drink. However, after lunch seems to be the highest food need time. On several occasions, I have to turn them away.

The donations to our Snack Pantry will allow me to keep students energized and focused after breakfast and lunch are done.

It will help them thrive academically as well as socially and emotionally. It will be available to the entire school population and can help low-income families not have to worry about buying snacks for students keeping more money in families' pockets without risking their child’s need for food. It can also help our school teach students a way to stay energized and focused.
