Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My keyboard students at Rockway Middle are divided into two groups. There is a beginning group comprised entirely of sixth graders, and a second piano class of seventh and eighth graders.

My keyboard students take music as an outlet from their everyday lives in which they can express themselves, enjoying the process of music making.

The music program is in dire need of many resources and as their new band director, it is my goal to provide the best conditions to thrive.

My piano students are learning how to read music, how to play in an ensemble setting, and get opportunities to perform in public.

My Project

Dear donors,

The keyboard students at Rockway Middle are in need of headphones for their class and you could be of great help!

During my first year at Rockway Middle School we have been able to fundraise and purchase many supplies and equipment that were needed in order to build a successful music program. Currently, the keyboard students are not able to practice appropriately because most of the headphones are not functioning well. We are in need of replenishing our headphone inventory to provide a thriving practice environment for the piano students. Any help you can provide would be great!
