This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A comfortable, clean, and inviting rug can really make a classroom! Every day my students sit on the rug to listen to lessons, have small group discussions, take movement breaks, and have whole class circle discussions. Currently the classroom rug I have is a bit faded and is stained from years of use. I would love to incorporate this rug with beautiful smiles to bring smiles to my students' faces as well. This classroom rug would not only help my classroom this year, but for many other students in years to come! As a first year teacher, I am trying to build a space where students feel like it's truly their own and interests them. Also coming into a clean space is a priority to me because I believe students should feel like their classroom is comfortable and nurturing. My students work hard and love learning, and I know they would be even more motivated to learn in a classroom environment that connects with them and excites them.

By donating to our project for a new classroom rug, you would be investing in both current students and future students to feel excited to come into the classroom every day motivated to learn.
