My Project

The Smart Board has become an essential part of our teaching and learning practices here at MMS. Routinely, I connect my computer to the Smart Board and display my ELA lesson of the day.

With a new iPad, I could wirelessly connect to the Smart Board in my classroom allowing me the freedom to work with my students as they sit in their literature circles.

They can also share their work from their seat allowing for a seamless exchange in student-shared responses as opposed to the commotion of students getting in and out of their seats in order to get to my laptop that's connected to the Smart Board.

On a normal day, an ELA lesson would look something like this: After I display my lesson on the Smart Board, we'd review the day's objective and the essential question, I give a mini-lesson, I may differentiate by showing a video or look up certain images, we engage in class/group discussions, they do some reading, they answer questions, they engage in group work and some more class or group discussions, then we share out.

Unfortunately, I am tied to the front of the room because my laptop is too old and won't work wirelessly with my newer Smart Board. As I walk around helping my students, I often find myself running back to my laptop to look something up for them, or they have to leave their groups to go look something up. This is why I'm asking for an iPad today. THANK YOU!
