Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students from California, are part of the California State Preschool program that has been adopted by LAUSD. The preschool program is geared to support students from a diverse cultural community that is under served; Students are provided with opportunities to learn through developmentally appropriate activities that are engaging.

Being part of under served community does not defines who my students.

MY STUDENTS ARE Artist, Scientist, Engineers, Writers, Story tellers and Explores. They are eager-to learn, ask questions and explore their environment.

My Project

The multicultural books I am requesting for my classroom Library will help my students develop a sense of empathy and sympathy towards others whom they see as being different. Multicultural books not only help address that differences among people are okay, but their also strengths.

A diverse multicultural and relatable books in a classroom library supports children's social- emotional, language and literacy development.

The books I choose are geared towards helping my students understand although we many look and sound different, we all have emotions and dreams that are true to each person. Some of the books are fictions and other non-fiction but all have the same goal to provide students with a new understanding of each other feelings and need of belonging.
