Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I try to provide an opportunity for my students to do some sort of art project every week. I believe that opportunities to create art are not only fun for my students, but also a good way to practice fine motor skills and following directions. So far this year, my students have made self portraits with markers, they drew and colored a sea life scene and painted it with water colors, they painted fall trees and ornaments, and they’ve participated in many directed drawings.

My students love creating things, which is why I am requesting new art supplies.

With 26 students using the supplies, markers dry up, paper gets used, and crayons get broken. We’re halfway through the year and with these new supplies, we can continue creating our mini masterpieces throughout the rest of second grade. Thank you for your consideration.
