Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Each day, students in our school's fourth grade classes participate in Math WIN (What I Need) rotations. This is a time where students are able to meet with the teacher and engage in independent work assignments that correlate with their areas of need in terms of their math skills.

Recently, my grade level team and I have decided to implement a new routine for our Math WIN groups, and we need supplies in order to keep our students organized, focused, and engaged.

We plan to have students from all three classes begin to switch classes to meet with classmates that need additional practice with similar skills. Since many of our students are below grade level in math, this time is extremely beneficial for their growth.

Included in this project are a few items that will help us make this a success. The folders will be color-coordinated to each student's group to facilitate the process of providing them with all the materials they need each week. Also included in this project are supplies for some of the rotations students will be participating in during intervention time. The student privacy folders will allow students to shut out distractions when completing their technology and at your seat work. The Expo markers will be used at the Meet the Teacher station for solving problems on whiteboards. The math games will be used at the hands-on station to provide students with an opportunity to practice their skills in an engaging way.

These materials will be extremely helpful to each of the 60 students throughout the fourth grade classes in our school. They will help to keep our classes organized, engaged, and focused during this very important time in our school day.

Thank you for taking the time to read about our project.

Sincerely,

Ms. Robertson
