Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a a teacher, you hope to empower students and inspire them to achieve great feats. I currently work with middle school students who range from elementary to high school in their math literacy. Our campus and district funds are limited, and as a result of Hurricane Harvey, many students still lack the materials needed in order to succeed in class and on tests.

They challenge me to challenge them every day, and with college readiness always on our minds, I want to ensure I am preparing them every step of the way.

My students, many of whom are English Language Learners, have an unmatched passion for learning and don't fall short when it comes to inspiring me to become a better teacher.

My Project

As the year progresses, there is an increase in the need for a space for small groups. The bean bags chairs, clipboards and mobile dry erase board will help provide students with a space where they feel comfortable and secure in their learning. I also want to offer more flexible seating options to students can get out their wiggles, but still be engaged and productive in the classroom.

Different students have different needs, and providing students with these spaces and alternative seating options can help cater to those needs.

This can help foster their learning and positively impact their success in the classroom in such a crucial year.
