Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My third graders are eager to become global citizens and learn about the world around them. These thoughtful, curious, inquisitive young scholars and scientists are hungry for learning. They enjoy creative brain breaks, challenging real-world math problems, and critical thinking. Above all, they value being kind and being fair. I have never been prouder of a group of students.

We are a Title I public school in eastern Las Vegas full of kind, thoughtful, inquisitive young learners.

Our inclusion classroom welcomes a plethora of different types of learners and embraces all.

My Project

Smaller groups yield large academic gains. While I can't control class sizes, I can maximize learning opportunities with flexible, small group rotations that are designed to meet each of my student's individual needs.

I am requesting intervention materials for both literacy and math to use with my small group rotations in a blended learning model classroom.

Not only will my students have the opportunity to build communication and independence skills in small groups, they will also get hands-on practice with skill-based stations. When students aren't working in their cooperative groups, they will be in small intervention (or extension) groups with a teacher to meet their individual needs. These materials will be used by the whole class in smaller group settings. The fluency activities will help students gain confidence in public speaking and meet benchmarks. The math materials will be used in small groups and with partners to review skills for testing. The reading intervention passages are high interest to hook my reluctant readers. Help provide my students with the skills and tools they need to be successful.
