My Project

Within the school occupational therapy is delivered to children to help participate within their classroom, engage with peers, and meet educational needs. Sometimes occupational therapy can be done within a therapy room or sometimes within the child's own classroom, this is called a "push-in" session. During push-ins the therapist works with the child, teacher, and classmates to adjust environment, assist in skills needed to participate and sometimes runs small groups sessions with multiple students in the class to teach group skills.

This year, my students in a 12:1:1 classroom will be working with me as I provided group sensory sessions.

These sessions will focus on providing sensory integration for regulation of sensory systems along with understanding and identifying emotions, wants and needs. Since services will be delivered within the classroom to multiple students it is important that students can get sensory equipment to use within their 12:1:1 classroom that meets their individual needs.

I am asking for sensory equipment and tools such as sensory body socks, floor tiles. light projectors. weighted blanket, floor markers, and SEL games.
