My Students

My students are hard working and inspired to make their ambitions come true. As many school districts, we lack funds to be able to provide students with the materials they need to be successful in the 21st century. Third graders get excited when they see their success with different materials, resources and manipulatives. To see their faces light up as they are figuring out new concepts and life is exciting.

Teachers at my school are motivated by the success of all students both academically and in preparing them for life.

Our school currently serves K-3 students with rigorous academics. I am a part of a teacher culture that is driven to inspire the minds of young people.

These materials will allow my students to meet their fullest potential.

My Project

I want to create seats out of crates to have at our small group setting. The foam will allow a comfortable seating arrangement for students plus a storage area for needed supplies. Having colorful fabric will help enhance the environment by making it a welcoming. Today's classrooms seem big, but when you have 25 students or more it can get pretty tight. Creative storage areas are key to keeping organization and eliminate visual noise. The crate bench will also allow students a comfortable and different seating area for reading and partner reading task. Students will be able to work side by side as they grow deeper with their reading, peer revise their writing or work together to figure out a math problem. Again, it will also allow a space for storage for materials such as books and book boxes, which is much needed in small classrooms.

Comfortable seating and storage are suitable to help enhance learning and organize the classroom.

Space is limited in classrooms, these crates will allow more storage for student supplies in a cute way that is function-able since they can sit on them as well.
