This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom consists of a diverse and vibrant group of young learners, each with their unique interests, strengths, and challenges. My students are curious, enthusiastic, and full of potential, but need additional support in reading and comprehending grade-level texts. Therefore, this project is aimed towards improving our small group literacy instruction.

Small group literacy instruction provides an invaluable opportunity for targeted instruction and personalized attention.

They allow us to dive deeper into texts, address individual learning needs, and foster a love of reading through engaging, hands-on activities. In these intimate settings, students can build confidence, improve their reading skills, and develop critical thinking.

The items that I am requesting, such as the whiteboard easel and markers, will help create engaging interactive activities for my students in addition to presenting concepts visually to capture their attention and aiding in their understanding. The book bags requested will maintain their reading materials easily organized and accessible, allowing them to focus more on their learning and less on managing their materials. In addition, the sentence strips will provide a hands-on approach for practicing vocabulary and sentence construction, reinforcing learning in a fun and effective manner.

Your generous support will enable us to create a more dynamic and effective learning environment for our students. By providing these essential supplies, you will help us foster a love of reading, improve literacy skills, and build confidence in our young readers.
