I am a third grade teacher at PS 251 in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn. Our school is a Title 1 school with over 80% of the population receiving free lunch. My room is a great, warm place to be. My students are comfortable and they are engaged in learning in their environment. There is a slight problem when I would like to meet with one, or a few students in a small group for specific instruction, we don't have a meeting table. I'd like to have a table in my room where I could conduct guided reading groups and meet with students that are in need of special attention. When I am doing "kid watching" in my class it's very difficult to see a few students at the same time that are sharing similar difficulties. Having a meeting table and chairs in my classroom will allow small group instruction to occur more frequently and smoothly. I feel like the other students will get less distracted and at the same time I am grasping the attention of those in need.. Please help me conduct more meaningful, small group instruction in my room by purchasing Group Tuff Stuff Table and matching chairs.
