My Students

My school is a Title 1, performing arts and technology elementary school, in Astoria, NY. Our school believes in constant collaboration and teamwork. I am lucky to be a part of such a diverse group of students here in Astoria. I would describe my school day as one filled with excitement and wonder.

My students are talented, entertaining and eager to learn.

They create their own goals and I work closely with them to achieve their goals. Despite the various challenges they face, my students continue to thrive. They greet me each day with a smile and a known commitment to work together to excel in every way.

My Project

On a daily basis, and throughout the day, I work with my students in a small group setting. Currently, when I conduct small group work with my students, we sit on the floor. This is not an ideal spot for optimal learning. Often times these spots are uncomfortable and students are easily distracted. Sitting at a kidney table would allow my to facilitate the lesson and monitor student progress without unnecessary distractions. I could work with one students and still effectively monitor the progress of the others. I truly believe having this table in my classroom would be a big help in student learning.
