My Project

Help give my first-grade students new seating to stay focused and engaged during small group learning.. At our school, many of my students thrive when they can move and adjust their seating to fit their learning needs. Traditional chairs and stools don’t always provide the flexibility they need to concentrate, especially during small group instruction where active participation is key.

New chairs will allow students to wiggle and move while maintaining their focus, which can be especially beneficial for young learners who have difficulty sitting still for extended periods.

These chairs also promote better posture and core strength, contributing to both physical and academic growth.

In our classroom, small groups are a critical part of the day where students receive targeted instruction and collaborate with peers. Providing new desk chairs for these groups will create a more engaging and comfortable learning environment, helping my students stay on task and confident in their learning. My students are multilingual language learners, many of whom are newcomers, learning English alongside the first-grade curriculum.
