Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are artists. Artists from Pilsen who live in a predominantly working class Hispanic community. Working virtually is going to be a challenge but their enthusiasm sets the stage. I just started organizing my Google Classroom and added a short clip to welcome them and in minutes I had responses.

My Project

Sketchbooks are an essential tool for an artist. The quality of paper that my students have is notebook paper. Watercolor on notebook paper......oil pastel on notebook paper..... a tragedy it would become. Please help my art students have a sketchbook at home for remote learning.

I will see my students virtually and I could only imagine their excitement about using artist quality paper for their art at home!

Watercolors would be an added touch to many art making opportunities. For many of my students these would be the first art supplies they own.
