My Project

Last year we established an after school skateboard program. Once students join our club they receive a complete skateboard and helmet. Our equipment is treated with love and care (to the extent you can with a skateboard) and our students feel a strong sense of pride and ownership to have their own tools. Students use equipment (helmets, boards, wheels) from local skateboard shops that donate or gift new/used items. We have reached the end of our supply and have been at capacity for new students. We are requesting specific skateboard parts to allow more students to join as well as helmets to ensure students are safe while they practice.

Our skateboarding club serves a unique and vital role in our school community.

Unlike traditional sports, we embrace inclusivity with no tryouts, gender limitations, or grade restrictions. Our club welcomes students of all learning styles, crating a space where everyone can thrive and feel a sense of belonging while enjoying the thrill of skateboarding. Beyond just a physical activity, skateboarding offers a positive outlet for stress and supports mental well-being, fostering resilience and confidence among our members.

By donating to our project, we will be able to serve our niche to its full potential!
