Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Most of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes and eat free or reduced-price school lunch meals on a daily basis. I know music education is helping my students become better human beings and well-rounded citizens of our country. Music is also improving their test scores on state-mandated tests.
My students love the band very much; so much, that the band hall is their second home.
Not just their second home, but also their second family. They are always looking out for each other in any way possible. Regardless of any differences, my band students come together and make incredible music! They work hard, show true dedication, they collaborate and have been successful year after year. They know that it is an honor to be a musician in our band program, and they take it very seriously. So, even though we may not have the best equipment for learning music, they will always try their best. My band students inspire me each and every day with their tenacity, drive, and passion for music. I am truly lucky to be their band director.
My Project
My students need a public address speaker for band rehearsals, public performances, and contests. The speaker will be used on a daily basis in our band program helping students clearly understand musical instructions and marching directions. The speaker we have now no longer carries a charge even after replacing the battery. It is super important that we have a working PA system with our band the size of 275 music students.
By donating to our project, you will not only help our students increase attention and focus but also improve pulse and tempo on the marching band field.
We will also be using the speaker to sound our digital metronome so all students can hear the beat and stay together. Pulse and tempo are very important on the marching band field. Without a common pulse, our halftime shows would completely fall apart. This will change our students' lives for the better because they will perform better and feel success at every rehearsal and performance.
More than half of students from low‑income households
