I teach art in an inner city school. I would like to teach the sixth grade students how to use a digital video camera and make IMovies in the classroom. My classroom is a multicultural atmosphere with a range of academic and physical abilities. I am requesting a digital camera and accessories to use in the art room. The camera will be used for multiple purposes: one for the student's use and the second as a teaching tool for the teacher and students both. First, the students will learn how to make digital video movies though actual video taping of academic activities along with extracurricular events. Edit movies and present digital videos to other classes in the building. The students will be able to make DVDs of the events to take home. Students will create and complete digital videos with the use of the digital camera and equipment. The students will build self-confidence and pride as they complete their very own Digital Video/Movie. Second, as a teacher I will be able to use the digital video camera to videotape class demonstrations. The demonstrations will be used for students to view when they miss lessons in art class. My project needs, a digital camera, tripod, mini videotapes, and bag.
