Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our school is proud to have a racially and economically diverse student body. Our students engage in personalized learning so no student is ever left behind and every student can be pushed to reach their fullest potential. At our school, we replace boring lectures with engaging projects and controlling adults with personal coaches who teach students how to manage their own schedule, behavior, and work habits. We know that children learn through practice, so students practice navigating the choices of the real world within a safe, structured school environment.

Our students are self-aware freethinkers who are working to become leaders of their own selves and their communities.

They are curious about the world around them and ask thought-provoking questions. They are bright, hard-working, and deserve the absolute best education experience.

My Project

This project will make a difference in my students's learning for two reasons. Firstly, the school supplies will be essential while teaching. The anchor chart paper and markers will be especially helpful when teaching a new concept or skill. Having a large poster in the classroom as a reference helps guide student work.

In addition, the math games will bring fun into the classroom and provide my students with the opportunity to laugh and learn at the same time.

Math games, such as Mathological Liar and Proof, show how math can be used in every day life and serve as additional practice on skills students may need to review. These games can be used as a center in the classroom, offering movement and flexible work time to students who thrive under those conditions.
