My students need a trip to Six Flags America on Math and Science Day to learn how to apply math and science skills in real life situations with hands-on experiences.
Our classrooms are filled with students who are curious about the world around them. We have many creative students who just need to tap into their abilities. A lot of our students have not traveled more than 30 minutes from their own homes! They have yet to be able to explore the world!
Many of our students live in poverty.
We are a Title I school where over 75% of our students receive a free or reduced price meal due to financial situations. Our students don't have many opportunities to leave the area or go to events that they can enjoy while learning. They don't always know that learning can be fun! We are working to change that and think this trip can make a huge difference!
My Project
My students need a trip to Six Flags America on Math and Science Day to learn how to apply math and science skills in real life situations with hands-on experiences. This trip would really help our students to grasp a lot of mathematical and scientific concepts. Many of our students are hands-on learners who struggle with reading. Being able to use these concepts in real life situations can help them not only learn the concept but remember it as well. This trip will help students through different experiments with the rides as well as introduce them to different presentations from NASA and the Maryland Zoo. They will see demonstrations that could help them learn and discover new ideas they never would have been exposed to otherwise.
Right now, the total price per student to go on this trip is around $60.
Our students and their families simply cannot afford this amount for the trip. Also, without this trip, many of our students will never have an opportunity like this for hands-on learning as well as experiencing the NASA and Maryland Zoo presentations. By donating, you are helping our students afford the ticket to a unique educational opportunity that they will never forget!
