Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a wide diverse group of children in 4th grade. My students are in the Dual Language program where students of the Spanish native language and non-native interact and wholesomely develop each other's language. My students are inquisitive, voracious readers who are craving to learn and discover based on what we learn as well as their own drive.

My students are avid and enthusiastic learners who thrive on cooperation.

As English language learners, books are so important to my students and are truly valued. I am the Dual Language teacher at a K-5 elementary school in an impoverished urban area. My students thrive on reading as well as learning of new ideas and inquiring over different cultures.

My Project

Flexible seating allows students to learn in an efficient way. Yes, students sit in regular chairs for hours in a week, but imagine how impactful having a bag where they can be comfortable in reading.

Sometimes reading can be thought as the tough boring subject, but with this flexible seating, reading would be more than fun for everyone.

These beanbags provide an avenue for students to enjoy themselves and be comfortable as they dive into the world of reading. While my students will enjoy these materials, they would greatly benefit as they transition back into the classroom.
