My Students

Every day we start our mornings by finding a cozy spot to read. I love for my students to be able to start their days immersed in literacy in comfortable spaces. I strive to develop a love for literacy and learning in each of my students.

Our school is a Title 1 school in a small town in Upstate South Carolina.

Each of the students in my classroom has a documented disability. These disabilities range from Autism to genetic conditions. My students face a variety of adversities in their daily lives.

My Project

I work diligently to provide a classroom environment that is not only warm and welcoming, but that also promotes a sense of community while focusing on literacy and basic skills. My students need 2 Delaney Chairs. By creating a seating area for reading that is comfortable and welcoming, I am hoping to increase the love for literacy in my classroom.

Being able to provide my students with comfortable seating will help them to see that reading can be fun and enjoyable.

I want students to see that reading doesn't just happen in a desk! My goal is to create life-long readers!
