This project is an extension of the flexible seating that is happening in the classroom, to provide students with new seating options to help them access all their learning potential. These options will provide students with more opportunities to provide movement within the classroom. Flexible searing increases oxygen to the brain which keeps my young learners more alert.
Flexible seating helps students find their best learning position, students don't learn all the same and I need to provide a chance for them to explore what works best for them.
Flexible seating helps students engage in the classroom, which stimulates learning and helps strengthen the relationship with the content. The ECR4Kids square dry erase table will be a great area for students who need help in math to meet and complete Math Talks. The table will provide a great space to work through any problems and share with other peers their process and thinking process. The leaf tables and scoop rockers will be used for phonics small group instruction, it will bring students to the rug for direct instruction to help strengthen their phonemic awareness.
Students can use the flexible seating options, like the bouncing ball chair, to help with movement within the classroom, while engaging and learning happen.
