Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine having Physical Education class without a gymnasium. Now picture these same students not having their own equipment to be physically active with. Well, that is the situation which the students at our school face. Yet, our students are always so excited about coming to Physical Education class.

Our students live in a low income neighborhood.

These children all receive free lunch as part of the Title I program. Our school population comes from very diverse backgrounds. Many of these families also live in temporary housing. You would never know any of this by looking at the faces of these children. They come to school smiling everyday and love seeing their teachers greet them daily.

My Project

Having no gymnasium and only an outdoor space to conduct Phys Ed class, students need their own personal space to sit while taking attendance and listening to the lessons directions and goal.

These spots will give students a place to sit at the beginning and end of class.

It will give each student their own personal area to sit on and a place to not be on the dirty floor.

These spots will also be utilized when doing many activities throughout the year to represent teams and where the players should stand.
