My Project

This project is hyper focused on student needs and student rewards. My students crave a space that is organized and calm. I already have calm down corners with rugs and pillows. I also have several plants and oil diffusers. One thing my space does not have is calmer lighting. I am forced to use the overhead fluorescent lighting, that the kids hate.

It is my hope to provide some lighting that allows for learning to take place, but is less harsh.

I am also introducing a new reward system into my classroom. Students will get tickets each day for staying on task and helping a classmate, etc. These tickets will be drawn at the end of the week for a prize of their choice. I hope to use this as an incentive for all of the students to model good behaviors they see. All of these items need a home, and this rolling cart with give me a space to put lights, the tickets and reward box, as well as curriculum materials and my computer during lessons. The possibilities are endless.
