Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Just like the rest of us, students sometimes have a difficult time focusing in class when they are either hungry or thirsty. Sometimes, they may be very tired from a poor night's sleep or just feeling run down. It happens to all of us sometimes and this project is designed to be able to provide our students with a way to address those needs when they arise.

By providing water and granola bars it is my goal to help students be able to grab a drink or something to eat when they are thirsty and/or hungry; by providing gum and sucking candy it is my goal to help students remain focused if they are feeling tired--each item ordered will also help keep students in the classroom so that they don't lose any instructional time.

Items such as these also help develop a sense of classroom community because students know we work hard to meet their immediate needs as well as their academic ones--our classroom is their classroom. To be able to provide food, water, and snacks without having to worry about my own financial situation changes the whole atmosphere; there is no need to ration and we can give freely to our students.
