My Students

I teach the English portion of our school's Spanish Immersion program. This means I have a total of 44 wonderful 5 to 6 year old learners, with two classes of 22 students. I absolutely love teaching language arts and sharing my passion for reading and writing with them. I am so excited when my students learn to read and love to read and write!

My kindergarten students attend a high poverty Pre-K to 5th grade elementary school.

I have a very diverse population of students in my classroom. Many of my students come from high poverty homes and are not given opportunities to engage in appropriate social behaviors with same age peers.

My Project

Songs, instruments, and music are wonderful tools in kindergarten. Music is a wonderful way to engage and teach little learners. This storage shelf is just what we need for students to be able to quickly and easily access our instruments and visuals that correspond with our learning songs. Kindergarten friends love to sing and dance. Instruments add another layer of participation, engagement and fun. Not to mention, music is a wonderful way to help students grasp and retain new skills. This new storage unit is the perfect option to store and allow my students to access song accompaniments when needed.
