Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are predominantly residents of the Bronx, although many of their families are immigrants from Latin America, the Carribean and Africa. As one of the few arts schools in the Bronx, we try our best to create an environment that fosters creativity and collaboration through engaging, multimedia projects (e.g. - using Google Classroom), that draw on our students' artistic abilities of writing, recording, editing, directing, singing, dancing, drawing, painting and beyond.

All of our students have a desire to attend an arts school that pushes each person to grow both artistically and academically.

My Project

Having a class set of chromebooks will allow high school students (particularly those with no technology at home) to prepare and complete college-level coursework by using technology, e.g. - Google Drive and Google Classroom. In addition these chromebooks would allow students, teachers, and administration to ensure ongoing collaboration throughout each school calendar year.

We would like to purchase the chromebooks to ensure that all students have access to the class presentations and overall work.

Because Chromebooks store all files in the Cloud, they allow for faster loading and processing of collaborative information. This will clearly ensure "all" students complete their work. Additionally, the inclusion/utilization of new Chromebooks will allow students to use class time more efficiently and remove any excuses that often are made when technology is not readily available for everyone.
