My Students

I work as an English as a Second Language Teacher as well as a special education teacher in a low-income school for at-risk Pre-K students.

My students range in age from three to five years and the students I work with and service either qualify for ESL services or have a disability for a delay in academics, social skills, language, and/or focus and attention.

My students are energetic, talkative, caring, and social. Some are still learning the English language and our program and additional supports allow my students to learn the skills and concepts necessary to be successful in kindergarten.

My Project

Students will learn to question, analyze, explore and discover through the materials requested. Students to Earth Science, Life Science and Physical Sciences! They will be able to use the materials to learn about colors, weight, the concept of float and sink, chemistry, motion, and habitats! These materials will be used during small group lessons and during free choice to expand on concepts that are introduced.

It is important that students are able to express curiosity and excitement that they can gain from exploring science materials and doing various experiments.

Students will also work on listening and speaking skills in English as well as with their native languages.

Donations to this project will continue to serve students year after year.

Science is such an important curriculum area and I want to expose my students to as many different science concepts as possible!
