This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As children grow and develop essential language and communication skills, they typically learn to discuss their thoughts and feelings with others in a wide variety of settings. In some cases, children may speak comfortably and openly at home but completely freeze in community social settings, not demonstrating the language knowledge they have.

As a speech-language pathologist it is my duty to help my students communicate in the academic setting.

To do so I am in need of books, social stories, play therapy, adaptive strategy items to provide opportunities to build communication and increase my students comfort level to be able to speak and be successful in their classrooms.

My students are so smart and hardworking and deserve a voice.
