My students need one copy of Diversity of Life coloring book, one copy of Human Anatomy Coloring Book, one copy of Botany Coloring Book, one copy of the Body Book, a set of Leaves and Seeds Mounts, one body Systems Activity Chart, one set of Interactive Dissectible Organs CDs, one set of markers for each table group, and one set of colored pencils for each student.

Knowledge is Power! I teach science to all grades, K-5, at our elementary school. The students come to the science lab once a week for one hour or more each visit. Our school has a wide range of students in its population. We serve neighborhood children, military families, and children whose families have chosen to send their children on the bus from their home neighborhoods to our small but mighty school. We have a large percentage of free lunch students and many English language learners. While we focus on all academic areas, my classroom is dedicated to the enrichment and enjoyment of science.

We have just begun our unit on life science for all grade and topics, but this project focuses on the human body. We want to learn more about how we work. Maybe if we knew more about how we work, we will understand ourselves a little better and think more about how we treat our bodies!

Since it is difficult to study the inside of our bodies, we need a variety of resources to help us visualize what we can't see. We would like a few diagram and coloring books to help us understand our bodies and compare them with other animals and with plants. We also would like to use some interactive Cd's that take us inside some of our body systems. We would like to look at a variety of plants and animals also so that we understand all living things a little better. To help us with some coloring and poster-making of our new-found knowledge we also need new markers and colored pencils since our old ones are dried up or sharpened to nubs!
